What to Expect!

September 3, 2010

Hello fellow Hunter film enthusiasts/makers!  I just wanted to let you know about things you should expect from this blog.

I want to begin by saying that we are all affiliated in some way with the Hunter Student Film and Media Guild so make sure you become a member if you want to join us in making Hunter better! If you’re just a casual blogger/reader, that’s fine too!

We are all about keeping the Hunter film community together so we’ll be discussing film related events and activities that are going on in and around Hunter college.

A few years ago on the older Hunter film blog, I posted up really cool events like film screenings of new prints and directors coming to NYC! I got to meet Paul Schrader (writer for Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, and director for Mishima: A Life in 3 Chapters), Takashi Miike (director of Ichi, the Killer, Visitor Q, Audition), Tatsuya Nakadai (actor in Yojimbo, Ran, Kagemusha, The Human Condition, Harakiri, Face of Another, and many other important Japanese classics), Teruyo Nogami (Author and script supervisor to Akira Kurosawa for over 50 years), and the Dardenne brothers (directors of Lorna’s Silence, Le Promisse, and others) and had the opportunity to hear lectures from Michel Gondry (director of Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless Mind, Be Kind Rewind, and The Science of Sleep) and Werner Herzog (director of Aguirre, the Wrath of God, Encounters at the End of the World, Rescue Dawn).

I hope to be able to showcase some works done by students so if you have something that you want to show people, please send us a link and we’ll gladly post it for one of our showcases.

We’ll be discussing tons of film in general such as reviews and analyses of all different types of films and film trailers. Also, we hope to have a bi-weekly discussion of one movie in which we encourage the readers to watch it and submit their opinions as well. We want to hear what YOU have to say. This blog was made to help us help you and have fun all at the same time!

Make sure to check out the links on the right for your filmmaking needs!

I was browsing my Facebook and saw this group via the Hunter Film Network.
I graduated from Hunter College in 08, since I have been working as a cinematographer. I am always looking for new directors and people to collaborate with. At the same time if students need advice or help I’m glad to offer it or do my best because while attending Hunter I always wished we had access to more filmmakers, directors & D.Ps.

Feel free to share my website and contact
